About these units
Viscosity is a fluid's resistance to flow. Dynamic (absolute) viscosity is measured in pascal seconds in SI and in poise in the older CGS system. Water at 20 °C has a viscosity of about 1 mPa·s, which is about 1 centipoise.
Kinematic viscosity, in stokes, centistokes or m²/s, is dynamic viscosity divided by density. Converting between the two needs the fluid's density, so kinematic units are not mixed in here.

Questions people ask
Is a centipoise the same as a mPa·s?
Yes. One centipoise is exactly one millipascal second.
Can I convert cSt to cP?
Only with the density: cP = cSt × density in g/cm³.
How many poise is one Pa·s?
Exactly 10 poise.
