Percentage
Percentage: 84.00%
- Points lost
- 8
How it works
Divide the points scored by the points possible and multiply by 100.
With a target percentage, the calculator shows how many more points would have been needed. It shows zero if you already reached it.
Letter grades and grade boundaries vary between schools and countries, so they are not shown.
Formula
Percentage = score ÷ total × 100 Points needed = target ÷ 100 × total − score
Worked example
42 out of 50 is 42 ÷ 50 × 100 = 84%, with 8 points lost. To reach 90% you would need 45 points, 3 more.
